Use case:
If a function has been removed or superseded in a new update, use the<removed>
tag to highlight it and show the improved method, whilst still keeping the previous information available! However, if a page is clearly just rubbish and does not need to be archived, use
<cat>removed</cat>
as described in the
Category page
.
Example:
This function was superseded by
this one
. This page still exists an archive in case anybody ever stumbles across old code and needs to know what it is - so don't remove it!
