Due to the Portal RTX Bridge being tailor made to work with the source engine, and especially those older executables, we need to install the bridge client.
For speed of installation, we have packaged together the core NVIDIA Bridge files from the Portal RTX release. This is the most recent as of June 16th 2023
and may be subject to change. If you would like the latest file, carry on reading. Otherwise, you can simply download this zip and move on.

If you haven't already, you need to install Portal RTX from Steam. You can do so by heading over to the steam page and clicking install. Portal RTX is free for all to download, regardless of if you own Portal!

As this is a steam release, you'll want to head over to the Steam installation of Portal RTX and go through the bin/
folder. The directory will be something like Steam/common/Portal RTX/bin
As an example, my copy is located in E:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal RTX\bin
There will be a lot of binary files here, but we are only looking for two.
The first is d3d9.dll
The second is NvRemixBridge32.dll
Copy both of these files to your Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Single Player
directory. It will sit along side your mm.exe
file. Overwrite any conflicts.
Now that we have binaries, we need the Bridge executable so we can finally launch the game. In the Portal RTX/bin
folder you will now need to navigate into the .trex
folder. You will find a bunch of files here, but we are only taking the NvRemixBridge.exe
file.
Copy it and put it into your Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Single Player/.trex
directory and make sure to overwrite any conflicts. Note that we are now putting this .exe
into the .trex
folder, not the main Dark Messiah folder!
